Is there something about the scale of a game I should know when it comes to AO? MechWarrior Online really does have 4km+ sight-lines, and seems to require strings like
RESHADE_DEPTH_LINEARIZATION_FAR_PLANE=8000.0
iMXAOSampleCount=16.000000
fMXAOSampleRadius=45.000000
to get anywhere, and even then, the effect is off in the distance.

Should one even try for AO in so large a scale game? :huh:

Depth could be in logarithmic scale or reversed, so check those settings first.

It could very well be that far plane has such ranges, from my tests on Witcher 3, 1000 vs 10000 has the same visual differences than 10000 vs 100000 so don't worry about such things. 16 samples is awfully low for MXAO, try 24 or 36.
