I've had a lot of good luck with using ReShade and Marty McFly's MasterEffect ReBorn to enhance old gamecube titles like Wind Waker and Metroid Prime:

Unfortunately it looks like not all Dolphin emulated games are compatible with ReShade. Just tried to get it working with Twilight Princess (a notoriously frustrating title to emulate) for both Wii and GC. Game crashes while trying to compile.

Here's the log from OPENGL32:

Now that's confusing.
Does it always produce these errors in the log? Did you try to use a different renderer in Dolphin (I think it supports at least both of Direct3D9 and OpenGL) and rename ReShade accordingly?

Opengl is the best Video renderer to use on Dolphin for less bugs and game compatibility. I haven't had any issues with Dolphin, Opengl, and Reshade. The shaders work great.

Seems the issue was a result of having two copies of the reshade dll in the dolphin directory - I had one named dxgi.dll and another named opengl32.dll thinking that I could just have one for each backend, forget about them, and then just have reshade be ready to go whenever I switched backends in dolphin. Turns out that when you do that nothing works! Use just one dll and it works perfectly, both on dx11 and opengl.

Do you have the depthbuffer working correctly?
I tried using ReShade and MasterEffect in PCSX2 and everything but the depthbuffer works flawlessly. Tried DX9, DX11 and OpenGL renders.

Depthbuffer was not working correctly, but considering that it's emulation, for some reason I just sort of assumed that it wouldn't.
