Waow! - Flipbook animation shader was created by Fu-Bama
Let me present a shader that turns Flipbook texture into an animation loop (with adjustable size, position and framerate)
Flipbook texture preview (no alpha)
Preview
You can download shader here: github.com/Fubaxiusz/fubax-shaders/blob/.../Shaders/Flipbook.fx
And the Waow texture: github.com/Fubaxiusz/fubax-shaders/blob/...er/Textures/waow.png
Just right-click on RAW and Save As .fx to your shaders location, same for texture to textures location
To use custom flipbook texture, simply define preprocessor definitionAnd adjust horizontal and vertical size = frames in the texture

To create you own flipbook texture from video file, use:
• Virtual Dub 2 ( virtualdub2.com/ ) to convert video file to image sequence
• Sprite Sheet Packer ( github.com/nickgravelyn/SpriteSheetPacker/releases ) to stitch all images into one texture
Sprite Sheet Packer is straight forward as the Virtual Dub 2, but you can also use FFMPEG ( ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/ ) it's a bit tricky as it uses command line. But you can use my handy CMD script that converts video to image sequence for FFMPEG github.com/Fubaxiusz/Batch-tools/blob/ma...eSequence_v2.3.0.cmd
But you have to add FFMPEG bin folder location you your system variables PATH
Virtual Dub 2 is the recommended way to convert video to image sequence.

Pretty cool! But I don't really see a practical use.

See my previous post. Nic Cage everywhere. Why not?
On more serious note, I can see much use for this when making some kind of glitching borders for various lo-fi presets(of which I'm fun of) or some other various stupid things. It's all in your imagination what you can come up with this. Probably not much use in photorealistic settings, but is good for creating very stylistic presets.
