Color grading LUT

The method above is a lot easier when trying to create a LUT gradient. You can simply take a screenshot of the default game, load it into your photo editing software and make the color corrections you want the image. Apply those same corrections to the LUT image and you are good to go.
I am not sure if you already have it setup this way, but at a glance it doesn't look like it.

Marty, I noticed you already had LUT implemented. I just don't know if it's the same method. In UE4 I can easily create an LUT with the colors I want by editing a screenshot of the game. I can then apply the same color edits to the LUT gradient. Is this the method you use? By the looks of it, the LUT you supply with MasterEffect is not a neutral gradient. Therefore any edits I want to make are guesses which make it really hard to get the results I want, as opposed to the method UE4 uses.
Anyway, just discussion. What you are doing is brilliant. Thank you.

I've tried starting with a basic gradient but it always darkens the image. Increasing the luminosity seems to only whitewash it while decreasing the luminosity only makes it more off.There appears to be no middle ground to start from? .And this is with all the other settings turned off except lut. I've been fighting with this all day...

I have a Palette pack that I got from ChinaGreenElvis and I Edited them to work as LUT with MasterFX if you are Interested.

I checked out your initial post and read through the article, but I'm a bit lost. What they don't explain in the article is which channels pertain to what?

The code is based on this
in order to make it work you have to:
add the option in the customFX settings
#define ColorLUT 1
#include EFFECT(CustomFX, ColorLUT)
Now it let you take an in-game screenshot with the lut in the top left corner modify it in photoshop and then the color correction is applied from this screenshot
