LumaSharpen, FineSharp, and AdaptiveSharpen can often create ringing around objects, especially those with black/dark outlines. MadVR has several DE/ANTI-Ringing features available. I realize madVR's video rendering is NOT the same as ReShade 3D rendering, but maybe it is possible to for someone to create such a DE/ANTI-Ringing shader for ReShade 3.0..?

Not saying its a bad idea but If you get ringing is because you went too far with the sharpening. Piling up effects that fight each other is a sure way to get a into a flickerfest.

^this. Sharpening works by increasing the local contrast which is exactly what you describe, MonarchX, except you've set it to so strong that you can see it with the naked eye - which is too strong. Better disable every sharpening, Fire up AA, tweak it until you have perfectly smooth image. Then add a tiny bit sharpening to compensate the blurring a bit but do not touch AA anymore, just tweak the sharpening until it looks good. If you keep adjusting AA and sharpening, you'll end up with a highly sharpened but highly antialiased image at the same time that looks smeary and flickery.

When sharpen videos there is the problem of video compression artefacts which get increased visible by sharpen filters. This is why anti-ringing is necessary for sharpened videos to hide the artefacts. These artefacts do not exist in games.

And what about video streaming enhanced by ReShade? Then anti-ringing would be nice
