changing dof settings when holding a key

I want to change the dof setting depending on if I am holding down mouse 2 or not. when I zoom in everything becomes so blurry so I want to make the gun blurry and everything else clear. is there a way to do this? or at least can I activate and deactivate effects by holding down keys?
