Show statistic on screen

What would be awesome if you could somehow select a shader in statistic area and get that value shown on screen. Like the fps and clock function.

I sometimes go back and forth, just get better understanding how diffrent adjustments to values affect performance. But as I am a bit retarded and forget my own name. I go back and forth a lot =)
