I've been trying to find a solution to this but I can't find anything that pertains to my specific problem— that, or I'm just not phrasing it correctly. I still have the DX9 version of the sims 4 and downloaded all of my effects onto the respective mode for reshade (I've tried it on every .exe file for the sims 4 as well). The effects load in just fine and the little bar on top shows up as well, but even though it shows that the effects are enabled, it's not actually showing anything in my game. I have reshade 6.5.1 with add-on support, so I'm really not sure what the problem is. Do I need an older version of reshade? I used to have a one from like two years ago that I never deleted until a few months ago that still worked before I uninstalled it, so I'm kind of at a loss as to why it isn't working now with the newer version

So my whole screen looks grainy to the point where I can't see my game when I start it with the latest reshade installed. What seems to be the issue and how can I fix this?

I actually dont need help i am just hoping this will popup for people who are looking to figure out how to get rid of the reshader overlay notification at the top of sims 4 bg3 and other games when you dont have a home key. if you are on windoews you can click Windows+control+o to get your on screen keyboard and it has one 

The menu doesn't appear in-game for me. I downloaded it, installed it, installed the preset using the right API, and followed the steps using guides made specfically for the games I'm using (Sims 3 and 4), but nothing seems to work

I've reinstalled it a couple times with the most recent version, downloaded ENB Injector, disabled the Steam overlay, and changed the key input that opens it. What can I do to fix this?

I just installed Reshade on The Sims 4 and I didn't install by default but I selected all the filters from the start, something you shouldn't do. Install Reshade with the basic selection without anything else and then go into the game and configure a few things, e.g., shortcuts, then quit the game, go back to the Reshade installation and update the filters. Normally, the game starts without problems with more filters. On the first launch with all the filters, I noticed that the reshade.ini file is empty and my game stays on a black screen. I uninstalled Reshade then reset to default, launched the game and everything works. Finished the configuration, I put my preset in a folder named reshade-preset instead of the game root, opened the reshade.ini then added like this to the line "PresetPath=.\reshade-preset\Off.ini" instead of "PresetPath=.\Off.ini".

So, after downloading the preset I see it works on the loading panel, but it's always kickes me out before the game menu shows. 

can anyone help me fix my sims game i recently got reshade and my game loads in but once i try to load into any household it gets stuck it makes the sound of loading in but the icon is still stuck on my screen i really dont wanna remove reshade so anybody know how to fix it

I firstly downloaded ReShade properly by following a tutorial. It worked, so got to take some photos and edit the lighting. I used it for a couple of days when my game suddenly started glitching like in the video I screenshoted. As I move the camera everything is normal, but as the camera stands still the sea and everything moving (birds, waves, plumbob etc.) disappears. Same in the game, the sims' hair disappears as well as the glass on the windows, pets etc. as soon as the camera stops moving. I have plenty of memory, I reinstalled ReShade multiple times, I tried installing all the effects or only a couple of them and the same glitch keeps happening every time. The only thing to stop it is to uninstall ReShade, but I don't want that. What should it do?

I've been trying to use Reshade in Sims 4 for the past few weeks without luck. It will either crash immediately at launch, during a loading screen, or once I apply any shader.
I've been trying to troubleshoot and fix it myself, but I'm getting desperate! 

The version I was running is the latest Reshade with addons (only installed REST), for Direct 11/12. I've tried many different shaders, as well as installing without legacy effects as I had heard they could cause problems. It should not be a performance issue, as I'm running it on my desktop with a 3080 gpu (10gb vram) and have 80gb RAM. I have tried reinstalling reshade and trying new shaders, changing game to direct 9 and installing the correct version for that, as well as running as administrator. I think it might be an issue with some of the shaders or their effects used, although I made sure the corresponding effects were installed correctly. Additionally, the crashes seem to happen no matter which shader I try. Without having used any shaders yet, the game appears to load fine (sometimes), and I was able to toggle some of the effects on (without a preset loaded), until it crashed. '

Things I've considered/tried:
- Different shaders, double checking effects are installed
- Turning off overlay in any other apps/programs, such as EA, Discord, Razer Synapse, Steam etc etc 
- Trying to run it with Direct 9 (game and reshade)
- Running as administrator
- Setting performance priority to real time or high in task manager 
- Installing different effects packs upon Reshade install
- Deleting thumb cache
- Tried Gshade (although I would much prefer to use Reshade), but ran into the same problem with Gshade
- Making sure the .dll file is named correctly for whichever Direct version I am running the game in
- Forcing game to load in Direct 11 by prompting it to in game properties, just in case

Please help a girl out! I came back to Sims after years of not playing, and would love to make my game a little prettier. I do have a ton of CC and mods (that I have been updating after recent patch, and that run fine without Reshade). Could any UI mods affect Reshade?

I used reshade until yesterday and all worked perfectly.

Today it doesn't start anymore when launching the game.

I haven't updated anything today.

Is it a known issue?

I have tried:
Reinstalling reshade
Tried to use both launcher (it install without errors)
Repaired the game
No errors messages appear

Hi, hoping I'm posting in the right spot here.

I have randomly started having issues with reshade and the Sims 4 that seems to have come out of nowhere.

The issue: While playing, reshade will randomly pop up and begin reloading effects. It will keep doing this again and again at random intervals until eventually, the game freezes and I have to close it from the task manager. Sims 4 is the only game I use reshade for, so I can't say if it happens in others - but apart from a Sims update a few days ago, I haven't changed any software or hardware on my computer. I also haven't seen anyone else seeming to have this issue in the Sims community.

I have tried upgrading to the latest reshade, uninstalling and reinstalling, going back to a previous version (3.0.8 specifically) and using different presets and nothing has worked. The Sims works fine without it, so I don't think that's the cause, but who knows.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

would you please be so kind to help me with a big problem with the newest ReShade installation? I tried it several times to open the exe but nothing happens. 

I marked ReShade as safe on AVG (my anti virus program) and added it as an exeption. But that doesn't change it either. I can't open the exe. Not even as an administrator. I use ReShade in Sims 4. An older version is installed but no longer works properly. Therefor I wanted to first uninstall the old version via the ReShade launcher and then reinstall the newest version. 

Please help me.

Whenever I turn on a preset that uses SMAA.FX it crashes my game completely, I've tried everything. I installed it and uninstalled it, I even tried using Gshade but I kept facing the same issue. I also tired repairing the game several times but nothing worked. Thankyou in advance for any help!

Very sorry if this isn't the appropriate area to ask, I check I have followed  this guide  to use DXVK with The Sims 3 for the purposes of better stability and performance. So far it's made a huge difference so I'm keen to keep it as such. I have tried both methods of installing ReShade given in the guide - the Directx9/overwrite method, and the Vulkan method. Neither work for me. The game launches just fine but ReShade does not appear in my game no matter which rendering option I pick.Is there something else I'm supposed to be doing, something I'm missing? Any tips appreciated.

Hiya, I've been using reshade for a while now but since The Sims 4 has updated itself from DirectX9 to DirectX11, I've had lots of issues.

I've been using an older version of reshade and launch the Sims 4 with DirectX9, but since I downloaded the latest reshade, I get error after error.
So I've decided to try DirectX11 which works much better, no errors were compiled. However, an effect that I always use is not showing itself properly like before. I use body sliders for my Sims, the outline is instead picking up the Sim's body shape without the slider. Please someone tell me how I can fix this!

I have a problem with any of the mxao shaders. It looks fine when I turn it on, the shadows show up and everything but, when I put the sims in free camera mode the shader messes up and glitches out the whole camera. Does anyone know the cause for this?

Recently, I got a new PC and I'm re-downloading my files again, and I'm coming in into some issues with Reshade. Whenever I open The Sims 4 and select a preset, the game crashes. No error messages, it briefly shows up that the preset is loading, but then it causes my game to close. All of my presets that worked previously, suddenly don't.

I tried making a preset (selecting just one or two options, literally anything just to see if it works) and after saving it, it isn't anywhere to be found when I check with file explorer and whenever I attempt to load it in, it says "This specified file is not a valid preset". Help??
