I love to enhance games, but sometimes I just feel like downgrading them.
We already have a 3DFX and Pixel-art like CRT shader, why not a ASCII-art like one?
It would look nice to play all the modern games as text, I have seen shaders like this in OpenGL previews and on UDK, im pretty sure its also possible on ReShade.

I know CeeJay was working on a fork of somebodies ASCII shader. You can find it here:

Yes, I am indeed working on this and it will be available in SweetFX 1.x (for InjectSMAA) , 2.x (for ReShade) and SweetFX for video (that runs in MPC)

I got it working correctly in ReShade yesterday and it will be included with the next ReShade update.
Currently it correctly converts the image to grayscale ascii characters.
Later I'll be adding a color mode, dithering and do some tweaks to the character set.
