Issues with ReShade shaders version 5.4.0 on Modern Warfare (2019) was created by Warden3_8
Hello !
I'm new to the forums so I hope I posted the topic in the right place. It would seem so but as I said, being new, I'm not safe from a mistake.
I wanted to report a display issue on the 2019 Modern Warfare game (the one that brings WarZone) with ReShade version 5.4.0 and previous 5.x.x versions. I only play the single player campaign. I tried the versions by going back from the ReShade Repository, some displayed a 500 error when downloading the shaders so I couldn't go through with the tests.
So I tried directly with a version that was close to the one I remembered without problems from the last time I played Modern Warfare 2019, the 4.5.0, and the graphical problems disappeared. Yes, I know, it's quite funny to see that reversing the first two numbers of the version fixes the issue. I found the coincidence quite funny. I have not tested more recent versions though.
I thought it was a problem with the game but when I uninstalled ReShade, the visual artifacts disappeared. Note that simply disabling the filters in-game does not fix the problem. You have to uninstall ReShade completely or go back to 4.5.0 (at least). Enabling or disabling certain graphics features doesn't change anything. I have an RTX3070 so the game runs in Ultra with RayTracing and DLSS but even at minimum on all options, the problem persists.
The problem also occurs on 4.9.0 if I remember correctly.
So I tested everything to be able to say that the artifacts come from ReShade. I'm not criticizing the software at all, I think it's great and I use it on all my games, it become essential. I just want to make a small contribution by pointing out the problem. Note that Modern Warfare is not necessarily out of the cause because older games don't have any problems with the latest version at the time I write this message, 5.4.0.
I hope the links I post here are in the correct format for the forums to show you what kind of issues I encounter.

This is a DX/driver bug in conjunction with ReShade. Implemented a workaround in
github.com/crosire/reshade/commit/fb8bbf...e1af7464698aa56398e3
, but wasn't released yet.

Thank you for this feedback! There is really not any urgency for this workaround, when I have issues like that with ReShade (like PB blacklisting) I just try to revert back to older versions and generally, that do the trick!
