TOPIC: [SOLVED] RS3.X: Hitman™ Shaders wont load or create preset

RS3.X: Hitman™ Shaders wont load or create preset 1 year 11 months ago #1

I having some weird issues with Hitman 2016, a DX11 game. t wouldn't launch if I used dxgi.dll so I changed it to d3d11 it launched
  • First. it wont create preset .ini file in the game folder even though it looks like it is there in the interface. Though Reshade saves and reads information to the D3D11 ini file
  • It won't load any shaders

So stuff I have tried
  • Change the shader and texture folder to folder with shaders and texture, wouldn't work
  • Tried every version between 3.02 to 3.06, led to same resultat
  • I couldn't try change Hitman folder name which is Hitman™ as steam would not launch game if I did. Though highly suspect it wont matter as usually special characters wont matter that much today in software
  • I turn of all stuff that hook, Shadowplay, steam overlay and rivatuner statistics
  • Reshade 2.03 and 1.11 works, so they are my backup plan
  • Run Hitman as Administrator, also I gave whatever access to modify and write files to the folder

It is just a weird problem which have not encountered in before.

I solved it, I overlooked it as path was almost right. It was just that Reshade didnt use the full path to the shaders and textures.

After doing the intial setup in the game the D3D11 ini file the was:
EffectSearchPaths=...\\steamapps\common\Hitman™\Retail\
TextureSearchPaths=...\\steamapps\common\Hitman™\Retail\
But should be the full path, to them.
EffectSearchPaths=...\\steamapps\common\Hitman™\Retail\reshade-shaders\Shaders
TextureSearchPaths=...\\steamapps\common\Hitman™\Retail\reshade-shaders\Textures

No idea why it did this. May ne it got confused by the launcher. I dont know what went wrong and why and why kept happening. But I happy I managed to get to work

Would never solved if had not tried complete reshade installation from another game.
