I would like to use ReShade alongside the many graphical improvement mods on the Nexus Modding Community, but I like to play using a controller and for some reason, with ReShade installed, I cannot get my controller to work at all. I'm not talking about not being able to use a controller to navigate the ReShade menus, I mean when ReaShade is installed, it's like the controller isn't even on. I heard there's a work-around, but I can't figure out what that might be.

Hello Gl17chM0D! I've been having the same situation but luckily for us there is light at the end of the Tunnel as long as you don't need more than 10 buttons.

1. First go to your game controller settings and select controls/Keyboard.

2.Then take a screen shot of the keys that they suggest. Save that file you'll need it later!

3.Then go to Steam and select library then go to add game. left click on that.if it's not a Steam game select add non Steam game/browse find the .exe shortcut.

4.Once added in the left side go to games and right click on the game you added. Go to properties/controller. You must make sure that Enable Steam Input is on.

5. Now go to Controller Configurator it's grey and underlined. A configuration screen will show up go to Edit Layout

6.Now this is where it get's tricky. Refer to your screenshot that you made earlier and select D-Pad on the right hand side this is where you will configure your buttons within the game use the D-Pad like you would buttons. Make Sure Directional pad is selected and click on each direction select keyboard and put your key that corresponds to your button. and that's about it remember that you must use the control pad as your buttons and the right control stick to move I know it's a pain but that's how it 's going to work until they get this fixed!

One thing that I've discovered is ReShade completely disables your ability to edit a profile in steam so the best thing you can do Is uninstall ReShade for that perticular game.then edit your profile in Steam when you get it the way you like, play it. If it works the way you want it to reinstall ReShade for that game and now you can play it.

I've done some work and this is what I've found. Now I can't answer for everything but for Song of the Deep and Valfaris Mecha Therion this is what worked.

1. go to the steam menu/settings/controller/

2.Make sure that your controller is selected

3. Make sure that enable steam input for xbox controllers is selected

4.Under playstation controller support select "enable games that don't have support.

5.enable Steam input for generic controllers.

6. Make sure that you have "xbox extended feature support driver

7. Then choose any controller layout you wish in (your game)/manage controller layout the exact steps to follow are above

8.Once added in the left side go to games and right click on the game you added. Go to properties/controller. You must make sure that Enable Steam Input is on.

9.Now right click on the game select management/controller and select Enable Steam Profile

10. Now go to Controller Configurator it's Grey and underlined. A configuration screen will show up go to Edit Layout within steam make sure that your type of controller is selected then go to the preview screen and select apply layout that should work!
