How should I set Frame Width/Height for CRT shaders?

Most CRT shaders seem to have Frame Width/Height parameters. My understanding is that I need to set this correctly to ensure scanlines look correct with the pixel size of the game. So as an example, I'm playing some of the Psykyo shmups which are presented with borders. Apparently the original hardware was 320x224 (I assume they mean 224x320 though). Would I be correct in saying then that this needs to be expanded out to 568x320 to account for the 16:9 with borders and that would be my frame width/height?
