This is a ReShade port and evolution of the EdgeWeave and EdgeWeave LX shader family originally developed for PotPlayer, bringing together the useful parts of two separate implementations into a single structure-aware sharpening pass.Unlike conventional sharpening filters based on generic high-pass contrast enhancement, EdgeWeave-H analyzes local image structure and uses the detected edge orientation to reconstruct detail. The ReShade version combines:Sobel-based edge detection and structural confidence
directional second-derivative sharpening
horizontal, vertical and diagonal edge handling
detail thresholding
staircase / aliasing rejection
local anti-ringing control
structure-dependent sharpening rather than uniform contrast amplificationThe goal is to improve perceived definition and edge clarity while keeping halos, ringing, noise amplification and diagonal aliasing under control. The shader is designed as a single-pass ReShade effect, keeping the implementation compact while retaining the directional reconstruction behaviour of the original EdgeWeave. It can be particularly useful after scaling, supersampling, DSR/downsampling or other reconstruction/AA stages where some high-frequency definition has been lost.Repo: github.com/aston89/EdgeWeave-Sharpening-shader-for-ReShade (original PotPlayer implementation is also available in the main profile page)
