Now Imagine an option to use the same algorithm to fill in the occluded area, the first 3 seem to be similar to what we have now in the occlusion section. That last one though...wow .
It's not. There still does not exist real-time solution that would not cause abhorrent flickering and other artifacts. Even the best non-real-time solutions causes enough artifacts to make it look horrible in 3d, because both eyes would receive different results, which is at the best case non better than the current non-AI shaders.
At the moment those only works in 2d but "two papers down the line" and we'll might start seeing something that could work in 3d.
