TOPIC: [SOLVED] GTA V ENB with ReShade controller problems :(.

GTA V ENB with ReShade controller problems :(. 1 year 2 months ago #1

Hello everyone,

This is my 1st post on these forums as I've got a really big problem with ReShade and ENB in GTA V.
While I'm able to run both of these applications together without any problems, I can't seem to find a way to disable the "Error Log" window from showing up on each game start.

I wouldn't have an issue with it as this window can be easily closed down after turning on the ReShade configuration window with Shift + F2, if not for it breaking GTA V controller buttons bindings.
GTA V has a problem with controller support which was never fixed, namely the controls of the gamepad are getting all messed up as soon as you press a key on the keyboard or any mouse key.

I was able to get around this issue ever since the game was released by turning on the game, setting up ReShade and then restarting it. I can't use this fix now since I just gave the ENB series mod a go after I upgraded to a gaming PC, but now every time I start the game, it opens up an ENB shader error via ReShade window and it won't disappear by itself. Therefore I'm forced to closing it down myself every single time which breaks the controller support :(.

I wouldn't mind it all that much, but I seriously prefer gaming with a controller over mouse & keyboard. Especially in GTA, as for example driving is much better using analog sticks, as it gives you more control over vehicles than keyboard does.

Using ENB in this game coupled with ReShade "Curves" shader makes it nearly photorealistic and runs without issues.
If anyone could help me, I would be really, REALLY grateful :)!

PS. If this is in a wrong section of the forums, could one of the moderators move it to the right section? Like I've already said this is my first post on ReShade forums and I'm kind of lost. Thanks ;).

There won't be a "Error Log" window if there aren't any errors, so you may want to check out what it says (+ post it here) and fix those.

Here is the screenshot with the error message:

It's in red so it might be hard to read, so here's what it says: D:\GAMES\enblightsprite.fx(25, 3): error X3011: initial value must be a literal expression

Can you help me with this? I simply can't express how great of a tool ReShade is and how much it can improve on graphics of even the best looking games! Thanks for creating this! Although it's a shame that it creates this issue in GTA V.
PS. Why is there now way to disable the error log window? I don't even get why am I getting the error I'm getting as ENB seems to be working fine from what I can tell.

Remove "D:\GAMES" from your effect search paths on the settings tab. ReShade tries to load ENB shaders, which doesn't work since those are written in HLSL and not ReShade FX.

How exactly do I go about removing this path? Sorry for asking, but while I'm using SweetFX/now turned ReShade for a few years now, I don't have a clue how to do what you said. Is it somewhere in the ReShade in-game config window?
EDIT:
Somewhere in here?

Ok, I've removed the GTA V path and only left the Reshade shaders folder path in. It works now :D! Thanks a lot man!!!!
