Issue with doubled .fx (clarity.fx) technique in a ReShade. was created by KAWA
Hello!
Recently started working on my own preset, I've been using ReShade utility for a few years, but nothing besides downloading user-made presets, and at best- slightly tweaking them.
I have a weird issue with one I'm working on right now for DeusEx: Human Revolution - Director's Cut. I can't get rid of doubled clarity.fx.
I'm new to this thing so I'll cut to the chase- how to figure chain of dependency? I imagine other techniques make use of it for some reason, or by default enable it (still I edit values and they are being saved)? When I expand settings both effects have the same values, so it's not like I have two independent versions or something.
There's only 'Clarity'fx' file in Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut\reshade-shaders\Shaders folder.
I tried to edit .ini file and remove the second entry in sections:
Techniques=
TechniqueSorting=
But it comes back.
I've installed full package from the most current installer.
Full list of everything I have enabled:
[email protected],TAA@Temporal_AA.fx,[email protected],[email protected],Lightroom@qUINT_lightroom.fx,[email protected],[email protected],[email protected],DELC_Sharpen@qUINT_sharp.fx,PPFXSSDO@PPFX_SSDO.fx,ADOF@qUINT_dof.fx,[email protected],[email protected],[email protected],[email protected]
Thanks for any tips!

Update: started a new preset from scratch, and enabling clarity makes it double itself, and again deleting 2nd entry in .ini file doesn't work. After reloading it does reapply both 'copies' of this technique.
Is it broken or something? If that was something that could've been boiled down to setting intensity - I'd set it 50% of the desired effect and move on. But here it's a bit more complicated and twice the effect is too much.
Even using solely Clarity.fx results in the same thing.
Any ideas?

You have a duplicated effect search path in your settings. Go to the settings page, find the Effect Search Paths option and make sure each path is unique and remove duplicates. It's causing effects to be loaded twice right now (not only Clarity.fx, others are affected too e.g. AdaptiveFog.fx).

Yup that did the trick!
I don't know what I was thinking. I would get to that eventually, just started my search from a completely wrong direction- editing .ini and .fx files in search for the cause of this issue, instead of just checking /Shaders folder.
Deleted a few packages I wouldn't use anyway, and removed duplicate effects. Reloaded ReShade and restarted the game and everything seems fine.
Thanks!
