[SOLVED] reshade smaa.fx filter crashing my sims 4

idk why its happing and it's a new laptop.
but every time I'm clicking the smaa.fx filter my game just crash
i really tried everything including installed and reinstalled

I don’t have the same thing but when I load the sims4 with reshade even if I don’t use a preset it crashes immediately

Bumping to state that I get the same issue as well when I turn on smaa.fx. None of the presets that have smaa will load (it crashes my game, though I'm playing Sims 3) and when I turn on smaa in the one preset that I can get to load (because it doesn't have it), then it instantly crashes to desktop. I've also done everything from reinstalling Reshade to altering the ini file in Reshade and it still doesn't work.

Please post the crash dump that Sims presumably created.

In case of Sims 3: Go to "<Your User>\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3" and take the latest xcpt[...].txt and associated .mdmp file and upload it somewhere I can download it from.

Can e.g. just upload it to some file share site. Please note that I specifically need the .mdmp or .dmp file, the test crash description alone is not sufficient.

I don't think Sims 4 creates a crash dump by itself, but Windows might have if configured to do so: Try entering "%localappdata%\CrashDumps" in the Windows explorer navigation bar, and check if the folder that opens contains any TS4.exe* dump files.

This is not really a problem with Sims 4 anymore, now that it has switched to D3D11, instead of using D3D9. But for Sims 3, posted a solution here: reshade.me/forum/shader-troubleshooting/...crashes-sims-3#47324
