Wizardry 8 registers keypresses twice when reshade (6.5.1/6.5.0) is loaded

As per title. This means that when you press the arrow down key, it will go down twice and if you would type "reshade" it would give out "rreesshhaaddee" in-game.
Other than that reshade works as intended and shaders load/show successfully. This has been tested with game versions from GOG and Steam on a regular Linux PC and on a Steam Deck with reshade loading under OpenGL (DirectX does not work at all for reshade due to unknown reasons)

Can't reproduce this in the demo of the game unfortunately (ReShade installed as ddraw.dll to ensure early enough hooking).

ddraw? Oh wow that doesn't even work for me. May I ask how your 3DVideo.cfg file looks like?

Ok I got it to work by using dgvoodoo, setting the game to DirectX7 in the 3DVideo.CFG file and renaming the reshade DLL to dxgi.dll. It's a kinda strange way but it seems to load successfully and then duplicate key press input is gone.
