Version - ReShade 0.11.1 Public Beta with SweetFX 2.0

I get the initial greeting, as well as it is running with the overlay in the top right in-game, although when I toggle the effects on, I get a black screen. The game doesn't crash although I cannot apply effects.

GPU - GTX 970 /w 347.09 Drivers

This is strange ... like, really strange:
  • Game + ReShade: Works.
  • Game + ReShade + CeeJay's SweetFX: Black screen.
  • Game + ReShade + Marty McFly's MasterEffect: Works.

I can even enable the same shaders in both and it works for the second but not the first, even though the ReShade compiler produces nearly identical code.

Is this something that will be addressed? If not can you provide a ReShade + MasterEffect archive too? I don't really have any clue how to make MasterEffect work with ReShade. I just now how to download SweetFX, GeDoSaTo or this ReShade and tweak settings. That's about it.

Just download mastereffect from the official post on this forum, copy the contents on the folder to the application directory and edit reshade.fx the same way you would edit sweetfx_settings.txt when using sweetfx. Note that by default mastereffect and sweetfx can not be used at the same time - if mastereffect is present, it will take priority over sweetfx.

Found it after a few seconds of searching. Is MasterEffect better than SweetFX? Or is it just a completely different thing altogether?

/offtopic

I guess I should assume that SweetFX won't work with KotOR1 either

Is this still happening as of 0.13.0?

The version 0.13.0 is the only version I've used. (I just found this awesome piece of work a few hours ago <3)

Something weird is going on too. If I press print screen the game's built-in screenshot function takes priority and takes a screenshot that is unaffected by ReShade but when I pasted my print screen into mspaint yeah it showed the black screen of doom!

The windows printscreen feature (which is what is copied to the clipboard) doesn't work with Direct3D/OpenGL, so whatever you paste into Paint should always be black, no matter what. Also, ReShade renders after the game finished, so every ingame screenshot functionatliy will always save the unprocessed result. It's why ReShade needs and has its own screenshot feature (which saves pngs in the game directory by default when pressing printscreen). =)

I can check the game demo later again, to see what's going on.

What I was saying is that the game took its own screenshot but the ReShade dll did not. I've already tried ReShade with a different OpenGL game and it worked perfectly fine with (Shadowbane) it. KotOR1 and 2 are both on GOG.com now and are very affordable btw. :)

RE: 0.13.2

[strike]I have some good news and some bad news. Good news is the screen isn't black anymore and ReShade can take screenshots! Bad news is I don't see any of the effects working. I toggled on bunch and used scroll lock and saw no visible changes. The log file is 6MB and I could tell my game was chugging. Let the game stay open a little longer and the log doubled in size. The depth toggle wasn't showing either.[/strike]

EDIT: I'm not very smart, or ReShade setup pulled a fast one on me. I copied MasterEffect into the ReShade folder where I put the files after downloading and it copied Sweet.fx and ReShade.fx both into the games directory. Gah! Well regarding ReShade+SweetFX nothing has changed. Maybe the log file could tell you something anyways even though it was using the MasterEffect shader file. (would be nice to know why it was making my logs so huge while at the same time lagging my game)

I experienced similar issues with SweetFX in a couple of OpenGL games now, but can't yet tell why things happen as they happen as of yet. I can tell you what is happening though: ReShade runs through the passes and clears the framebuffer to black before starting to draw the post processing effects (needed for SMAA to work). Now for some reason it never draws something, causing the screen to stay black.
