Game:
Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes
Two-year old 32-bit DX9 game. Not demanding at all. Plays a bit like CIV, top-down isometric view.
Problem:
FPS is usually solid at 60. With Reshade, drops to 5-10, even with just lumasharpen enabled. Toggling SweetFX off makes no difference, just Reshade being loaded bottoms the FPS.
Observation: The GPU usage remains unchanged (about 10-20% on a GTX680 in this early game test) when this happens, however CPU usage more than doubles, and the CPU cooling fans spin up to accommodate.
Testing notes:
Older versions of Reshade don't impact the FPS, though the game spews an error during load. Here are the Reshade versions tested and the results:
0.14, 0.15 ,0.16 ,0.17 -- FPS slowdown as described above. Effects work fine. No error reported during game load.
0.6.5, 0.9 -- Causes the game to pop-up a Windows error 'Atlas texture could not be generated'. The game is calling a file called 'DXAtlasWin.exe', which is crashing. However, closing the error pop-up the game will load fine. Additionally, SweetFX effects are applied, and there is no slowdown in FPS. Locked at 60 fps.

Looks like this was caused by the games use of D3DX9, which constantly attempted to get a reference to the ReShade module, forcing ReShade's hooking manager to kick in multiple times a frame (and that thing is slow). That particular issue is fixed with 0.17.1 now.

Thanks Crosire, you rock!
Edit: Just tried out 17.1 (found it on the Reshade dropbox repository by accident looking for 0.16 for Zach in the DA:I thread, are the point releases announced anywhere?) - ANYWAY, can confirm fix works! Smooth as butter again
