Apex Legends and Origin In Game

Hi, im new to this and after downloading, i noticed i cant open the in game overlay from origin anymore. I cant see my friends, send messages, open a browser etc. in game. the shortcuts are correct and are enabled but it just doesnt open anymore, while the crosshair overlay works just fine
