Windows 10 version compatibility differences (Grim Dawn)

I noticed that for some versions of Windows 10 (1809), I can only get ReShade 2.0.3 to work with Grim Dawn (32bit of 64bit), but use of ReShade 4.6.0 (or any 4.X.X) results in black-screen hang. For other Windows 10 versions (1909+), ReShade 4.X.X works fine for Grim Dawn.

Any idea why there is such a difference. Grim Dawn is so far the only game that is affected by Windows 10 versioning.
