Trouble Updating

I have tried updating a game to the latest version (4.9.1) but the message on game startup is that it is still using the old version (4.8.2).  I have tried unsinstalling and reinstalling but get the same result.  indeed, it appears I cannot uninstall 4.8.2 (or at least its load message) either automatically or manually (deleting all Reshade files and the folder).  Can anyone advise?
