I'm really not sure how to fix this issue. I've properly installed reshade and it works just fine in fullscreen mode but when I play in windowed fullscreen or just windowed I get an error.

The error shows in read at the top: "unable to save configuration and/or current preset. Make sure file permissions are set up to allow writing to these paths and their parent directories. It also says no effect files found in effect search paths."

Nothing about the files/folders has changed. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, tried different reshade presets, messed with settings in game but nothing will fix it. It's frustrating and I'm not sure where to go from here.

I have the exact same issue. I posted about this a few weeks ago and I am yet to receive a reply and you are the first post I come across that explains this exact issue. I’ve looked everywhere and googled it in every possible way to find answers and I haven’t found any.

what I ended up having to do was to then go through the process of manually reinstalling it in game. So choosing the folders for the preset and then going into settings and choosing the folders for shaders and textures and then manually typing in the global processor data and it would work but if I alt/tab out of the game, went out of the game completely or just returned to full screen and then windowed mode again, it gave me the exact same thing and I would have to manually add everything again. I eventually just gave up because it was too much
