Doom Eternal ReShade seems to crash on title screen

I was using ReShade On Doom Eternal fine initially but then I changed some video setting and the game hanged at a black screen so I had to force close it from task manager. Now every time I boot up Doom Eternal, the Reshade overlay pops up fine and during the company splash screens I can change presets and settings fine but the second the title screen pops up the overlay closes and the settings revert to default and I can no longer open the overlay.
I have tried everything I can think of including reinstalling ReShade and Doom Eternal, updating drivers and deleting everything and starting from scratch. But Weirdly enough even when I do uninstall Reshade from Doom Eternal, when I boot up the game I still get a message saying that ReShade wants to run.

Does anyone have any idea whats happening or how to fix it? I would really appreciate the help.

So an update if anyones interested. It seems that ReShade doesn't actually crash at the title screen but when I hit the 'Home' key the overlay actually turns on but it's invisible, I can tell it's on because the in-game cursor stops moving until I press the 'Home' key again. But the new thing I've discovered is that if I load up a level the overlay reappears and I can change setting and presets! Hurrah!
Oh, except the game crashes almost immediately now if I keep the overlay on for too long. Boo.
