getting reshade to work with java games

specifically trying to get it to work on wakfu, when i use taskmanager to find the .exe it's a "java.exe" inside of 
E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Wakfu\jre\bin

reshades installed, the opengl is next to the exe but when i launch the game nothing happens  
i tried both gshade and reshade to no avail. can anyone help? any way i could use a VM or something lol
tried also disabling steam overlay

i really want to get reshade to work with this game 'cos the game could really utilize some of its filters. 

I'm having this exact problem with java apps. For me, I want to get reshade to launch in Minecraft, and despite installing correctly, reshade simply won't be there. I will note that I have had success with a very particular launcher under very particular circumstances, but using it is not a feasible solution.
