Reshade works with everything but Garry's Mod

Installing Reshade in Garry's Mod has been a pain in butt. First off, it doesn't even appear in gmod after installing. Only after putting the d3d9 file in the "bin" folder, does it show up. Next, i gotta manually apply the paths for the shaders and textures in settings. AND AFTER THAT, only the standard effects appear. There is no sign of the extra effects i checked the boxes for during the installation!
This has never happened before. What do i do?

You need to choose the x86-64 branch of Garry's Mod (can be found in the Steam properties of the game > Betas) and then install to bin\win64\gmod.exe for the default setup tool config to work.

"Failed to install d3d9.dll: A part of the path 'C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/GarrysMod/bin/win64/d3d9.dll' was not found.
Was there supposed to be a d3d9.dll file already?
