Depth-of-field effects with noticeable edge

I've been using DOF quite a lot (mainly MagicDOF, but I honestly don't understand the difference between the DOFs yet), and one problem I haven't been able to solve is that the blur does not increase gradually but rather increases or decreases sharply at some edge. I'd rather have it completely gradual like a slope, very much in the vein of TiltShift. Am I using some wrong values, or is it just how these DOF effects work?
Thx

Also, magicdof is a bit limited, there are better/newer dofs in reshade (CinematicDoF) and 3rd party repositories (qUINT)

Okay, I'll get back to you with more info. Sorry

Click on "YouTube" to see the video full-size. The forum software doesn't respect my width and height settings, so I had to keep the video at its tiny default size... Look at the grid to the right. There is no smooth transition between blurry and unblurred, but rather a noticeable edge travelling along the grid as I turn left or right.

However, as it seems, I may switch to CinematicDOF as you suggested - I had no idea which effect to take so I somehow settled for MagicDOF first.

However, like OtisInf, I suggest you to try the newer Cinematic DoF and ADOF from the qUINT collection .

Yes, I will, thank you.
