3.07: MagicBloom glitches when its last in order

I finally found out why was experiencing that my toggle keys and that all effects was disabled as soon as closed the Reshade Overlay, When I put Magicbloom last on my effect list, it disables all effects and itself. Attached video as I suck at explaining stuff but made reproduce list anyway. My simple workaround is to put some non intensive shader last in order and don't use it.

Reproduce list:
1. Have a couple shaders and activate them
2. Have MagicBloom last in the list
3. Activate MagicBloom
4. Close Reshade overlay
5. All shaders will get disabled
6. Put Magicbloom not last in the list
7. Everything should work as intended.

Extremely weird... No shader should affect ReShade functionality. The only things that make MagjcBloom unique in my eyes are the large descriptions of the US variables and using "string" \n"string" instead of "string\nstring", but nothing that old cause hiccups.

I didn't believe shader could impact behavior of Reshade in this manner. I have ran into now and then. It happend to me a couple times but took me like months where got clear case what made this happen. I am though super happy I found away around it. I really like adaption effect on MagicBloom.

To isolate it, I also turned RivaTuner and Steam Overlay. I leave it to smarter people to ponder. If more information is needed, just write and gather what you want.

This is interesting. I wasn't able to reproduce that right away though. Could you share the preset file used in the video?

I compressed all my Reshade related files. I mess about a bit, deleting and adding shader code files. So maybe it is me not Reshade =)

i have had this happen in the past with other shaders as well i dont think its directly related to magicbloom maybe just how its scripted, this problem has been here since reshade started i just really dont care to much as it happens so rarely

I can't reproduce that with the files either, at least not in the games I tried. Will install Skyrim SE and check there later.

This is actually some useful information. I wish people would post that sort of log more often.

There are some processes running, that might cause issues together with ReShade, so would be worth a try checking if things work without them:
- RivaTuner Statistics Server
- MSI Afterburner

Plot thickens.

I closed down afterburner and Rivaturner. Nothing changed. It seems to be rare bug. I tested two more games.

Kerbal Space Program:
Everything works as intended if I use my own simple reproduce list. It is a unity game, not sure if d3d9,d3d11 or opengl. At least I use 64bits reshade.dll

Human: Fall flat
Another unity game. It bugs out in the same way as Skyrim Special Edition, I also used launch commands and tried the d3d9, d3d11 and opengl. Didn't have any impact on the weird behavior. I reported this some time ago. But then I didn't really could not reproduce it. Hehe drove me nuts

I will try remember try it in more games. But I think I remember as MagicBloom is one of my new favorites

EDIT: I tried another game, Alekhines's gun. Couldn't reproduce. My conclusion that "Show FPS" acts as a workaround making MagicBloom not be last in the list. As the workaround I used games that shown this behavior
EDIT2: LOL, this is like a puzzle game. To rule out anti-virus shennigans, I uninstalled my Panda antivirus. Didn't make a diffrence in this case

:woohoo: I think I finally nailed it down. how to make it happen every game. As I managed break it in Warhammer End times. I backtracked my own setting up a new game routine. It is the "Show FPS" that mess things up and only if Magicbloom is last in the effect order.

So a new re-produce list.
1. Take 3 shaders with MagicBloom included
2. Put MagicBloom last in effect order
3. Toggle the "Show FPS"
4. Un-toggle(Is that a word?) "Show FPS"
5. Close Overlay

What happens is that everything works as intended as long "Show FPS" is active. But if you turn off "Show FPS". The behavior shown in video happens. Though if you never activated that function the bug doesn't happens. Which explains why I didn't experience it all the time. However so far I just tried it on Warhammer Endtimes as I had not messed with ReShade in that game.

I also have the problem that all shaders are disabled when Magic Bloom is active and I close the config panel. My workaround so far has been to keep the log window open and move it as far as possible into the bottom right corner, lol.

Game is TW-Warhammer and reshade is v3.07.

I tested in two games, the glitch still happens in 3.08. I didn't read anything about it in the changelog. So didn't expect it to change. So just thought I report it again. Anyways it is easy thing to work around =)

It is working as intended in 3.10 at least so far in two games I had the glitch in before. I report back in case I bump into it again.
