Strongly disagree. The more choice the better, as this provides more options for improving games, and for improving different *types* of games. Some shaders work well with one type of game, and a different set with another. The issue isn't the volume of shaders on offer, it's your understanding of what to use and when (and I am the same). This is an educational issue not a Reshade issue. And here I do agree we are lacking in tutorials of what to use and when -- I am beginner by any stretch and tend to stick with a handful of core shaders (I still need to learn the power of LUTs for example!).Carl_P wrote: I really appreciate these updates to Reshade, an essential piece of software for me.
However, I feel this new version added too many options. It takes a lot of trial and error to find the "right" shaders and their best settings, and I don't know if we really need *that* many choices. Better to pick out the highest quality shaders (vs performance), and avoid multiple shaders that does more or less the same thing.
I'd be all for an in-depth guide that explains what a shader's design is intended to do, when it's best to use it, where it should fit in the shader chain, and how to adjust its knobs to achieves different outcomes -- for every single shader currently on offer. Any volunteers out there?
I agree with this. I also use Clarity, AmbientLight etc extensively, and the are really great shaders that can be applied to many games. I do think they should be moved to a 'core' shader group so new users find them easier. 'Legacy' as a title implies 'Outdated' and as a result less useful, which is not the case here. Also, it's unfortunate that some of the absolute best shaders have been moved to the legacy option. AmbientLight and Clarity do wonders to improve games with slightly flat lighting, like Witcher 3. These two shaders, along with Colourfulness, should be part of the main/default shader package.

It's nice to have more choice, but I would still prefer to have a package with recommended effects, just like the previous ReShade version.

First; thanks a lot for a magnificent job you had done with reshade (Dx12, Vulkan, VR, etc) really amazing, but why reshade block itself when you are online (even offline with Eternal Doom) with games shaders ??? Please consider to unlock reshade app ....
Thanks

Cheerz!
It's been fixed on 4.6.1 silent update. Thank you crosire!

I'm getting application error 0xc0000005 on Mirror's Edge (GOG version) using Reshade 4.6.1.
I have the latest Nvidia Driver, Windows 10 and Visual C++.
Thanks.
Edit: Works fine now.
The executable file compatibility mode was set to WinXp, don't know why.
Anyway thanks.

No other Antivirus, like Avira, Malwarebytes, Kaspersky, .... could detect this file.
This file is invisible in Explorer.
Is this file really related to ReShade? Maybe the developer could answer this?
Edit:
After doing some investigation, it really seems this file is legit.

The preset, which had worked fine through 3 previous versions of reshade, appears to load 2 instances of each filter and I cannot check just 1 to apply. Appreciate your work on this great tool!
Whatever the issue was, 4.6.1 fixed it. Thanks!

been using reshade for years.
4.6.1 has following problem: MY setup gtx2080 + ryzen 3900x + Cod MW + Wqhd
with 4.6.1 there is a kind of CPU limitation, tested ingame and in Main menu. For reproducibility i made following test in main menu.
1. switch of fps limitation in menu
2. deactivate all shaders
2. observe CPU and GPU utilization => CPU: 20% GPU: 75% FPS:110
with 4.6.1
1. switch of fps limitation in menu
2. activate all shaders (clarity + adaptiveSharpen)
2. observe CPU and GPU utilization => CPU: 20% GPU: 85% FPS:110
with 4.5.4
1. switch of fps limitation in menu
2. deactivate all shaders
2. observe CPU and GPU utilization => CPU: 25% GPU: 98% FPS 190
with 4.5.4
1. switch of fps limitation in menu
2. activate all shaders
2. observe CPU and GPU utilization => CPU: 25% GPU: 98% FPS 140
with 4.6.1 im going in a kind of CPU limitation which is ridiculous. Can anyone support?

Then i install reshade 4.5.4 and it runs smooth, but i can´t activate a shader ingame = crash (DX error). If i had activated a shader ingame, at next start it´s activate and runs good.
Now i had activate the shaders i will use(in reshade 4.5.4) and it works without micro stutters.
...but little bit strange the problem?!
...reshade 4.6.1 is not a good choice in CoD MW 2019.
(my Sys: 8700K / 1080Ti)
p.s. this game is the only one, i notice that.
EDIT: found another game that has micro stuttering with 4.6.1.....Red Dead Redemption 2 with Vulkan.

In reshade.ini: .\reshade-shaders\Shaders\Depth3D
The actual folder with the shaders: \reshade-shaders\Shaders\Depth3D\Others
These shaders is visible during installation, but as soon as you enter the game and open the ui, they don't exist anymore.
