Since things are working mostly alright as of version 0.19 it's time to get out of the public beta and publish a first release of ReShade, version 1.0. One of the main critics in the past was the installation of the injector and configuration of shaders for ReShade, the reason Lucifer introduces the framework and its mediator tool.
To make life easier for newcomers the three download options one has to chose from currently will be replaced with a single one, the ReShade Framework. No separate core, no "framework" shader pack anymore, all-in-one. This includes the mediator GUI and is a shader environment for developers to add shaders to without having to worry about conflicts etc. There won't be separate version numbers for ReShade and its shader packs anymore either because of this.

People still prefering the standalone SweetFX or MasterEffect packages are of course free to remove the shader files from that download and use core ReShade with their own files: CeeJay's SweetFX 2.0 for instance continues to exist seperatly, only using the ReShade injector DLLs (keep an eye out, something is coming for that one too).

Changelog

1.0.0:
  • Added option to change screenshot key via "#pragma reshade screenshot_key"
  • Fixed rendering failing under Direct3D9 if device was using software vertex processing

As said, the beta was meant to clean out bugs, which worked great. So now version 1.0 is pretty much 0.19.2, with some more bugs fixed and merged together with the Framework: More focus on the shaders and configurator tool by Lucifer. This is because previously ReShade and shaders were developed completly unaware of each other (with various shader packs available), which was confusing for many people and is thus changing now.

Crosire, once you said something about not adding a VSync option to ReShade. Would you mind writing again why not? Just so I know.

A useful feature(probably in my lone opinion orz) for 1.0 would be to have a toggle or a separate Reshade that removes "the whole ID3D11DeviceContext hook" that would supposedly, according to you, enable some support for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and presumably it's sequel, The Phantom Pain. It wasn't too bad using the old SweetFX for it but I've just upgraded to Windows 10 and it seems I've lost support for SweetFX in DX11 games(or am I missing something?).

I'd really love you if you did that but I understand I'm probably asking a lot, it seems like this sole game would benefit from the effort. Support to the depth buffer doesn't mean much to me though since I just want tone mapping and that sort of thing.

I'm willing to make a partition with Windows 7 if I have to, I really can't play a game like this without at least SweetFX lol.

Nice to see that the release of version 1.00 is coming soon, haven't had any major issues so far with 0.19.2 but I'm looking forward to the mediator program improvements. :)
(Bit of a random thought but an eventual 1.1 beta - or what it could be called - with D3D12 compatibility would be nice too now that Windows 10 is out and the SDK and samples for DirectX12 are available to the public.)

"Windows 10 and DX11 games"

I am also using Windows 10, yesterday I played a bit of Bioshock Infinite (x86) and The Witcher 3 (x64), it worked as it did before. And just tested with Alien Isolation and the same thing.

I don't have Ground Zeroes, so I can't say.

From what I gather it's an issue with SweetFX(without reshade) and DX11 in Windows 8+. Reshade as it is has no issue generally but it doesn't work with Ground Zeroes.

Any breakthroughs in terms of depth buffer access? :D

I´m not a fan of the new release! The only shader pack i need is sweetfx 2.0 all the other shader packs are complete useless for me because the most effects are not looking good in the most games(Games are simply crammed with effects). Beside that i dont like the new "configurator" Mediator. Now all shader packs pushed together and the download reshade+sweetfx 2.0 is not available anymore. It´s of course nice work but I will not use it. Would be nice if the download reshade+sweetfx 2.0 will be available too....

Yeah, here's a link for the SFX 2.0 if you want to download it and use the new dlls from 1.0 instead of the old ones in this pack:

The original Framework came with a performance tweak that I can no longer find in this 1.0 release... I am talking about:
#define RFX_InitialStorage 0 //[0:1] //-Set this to 0 if you !only! use the SweetFX suite and want some additional fps (overwrites RFX_SmartPerfCheck if set to 0)
#define RFX_DepthBufferCalc 0 //[0:1] //-Set this to 0 if run an application that does not allow depth buffer access or you use no depth dependent effects and want some additional fps (overwrites RFX_SmartPerfCheck if set to 0)

Where can I find the same in ReShade 1.0 the same thing?

It's under //>Core<\\ in the common cfg in the reshape folder.

Anyone make a quick video on how to use Mediator?
I haven't touched it in any of the releases and haven't the time to figure it out myself ATM.
I normally use Reshade the old fashioned way :) But Mediator looks sweet and wouldn't mind using it :P

Since there is no more support for sweetfx. How do I go about using the reshade 1.0 with the latest sweetfx framework!? Can you give me a quick guide? Please give me a quick guide on what I need to do to get the latest of sweetfx and reshade!

A video on how to use mediator and how to use sweetfx separately definitely needs to be made!
