After updating/installing the new reshade version to my games.... all shaders, textures and everything gets deleted out of nowhere after I shut down my comp and turn it on the next day only to find them all gone (only things that stay are the reshade presets/profiles)

Does that mean Witcher 3 can now have MXAO without having to disable in-game temporal AA?

MXAO has always worked for me in TW3 when ingame anti-aliasing is on.

Here are some presets that work with TW3 (in dxgi.ini):

RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED=1

[DX11_BUFFER_DETECTION]
DepthBufferRetrievalMode=1
DepthBufferTextureFormat=0
ExtendedDepthBufferDetection=0
DepthBufferClearingNumber=1

or

[DX11_BUFFER_DETECTION]
DepthBufferRetrievalMode=0
DepthBufferTextureFormat=0
ExtendedDepthBufferDetection=0
DepthBufferClearingNumber=1

Hey,

I had the .exe for few days on my computer, but now Windows Defender is acting like crazy and detects it as " Trojan:Win32/Bluteal.B!rfn" (even when I download it)

Hmmm. On my rig, Windows defender do not consider Reshade as a threat. I am afraid your computer has been infected.

Nope, this is coming from reshade itself. I've checked the checksums
Maybe your virus definition is not up to date ?

My windows defender virus database is the 1.271.120.0 (just made an update before i first checked Reshade, to be sure).
Some viruses replicate theirselves into some exes, so if the reshade setup has been infected on your rig, Windows defender will consider that the threat comes from this file.

The checksum of the reshade setup is this one (if i trust the Microsoft utility):
9e6a7b45c0e2804c8545feab542f5273

I checked with another antivirus to be sure (Clamwin). No threat detected.

Maybe Crosire could confirm the checksum.

Yep, I get this checksum too ... That's weird

EDIT : actually you're not up to date, the last one is 1.271.124.0

No, the last one is the 1.271.127.0 :P (it can change each hour or less). Still no threat detected...

Different OS's perhaps? Windows 10 RS4 increased how pro-active WIndows Defender is and the upcoming RS5 currently in insider testing is adding even more though you can now customize it a bit further.

If it's the same checksum that's a false positive at least, adding an exception should be OK or at worst temporarily disabling Windows Defender and unpacking the installer by holding down CTRL while clicking the select button so you can at least get the .dll files out of it before turning it back on. :)

A couple of days of these reports and Microsoft and other AV solutions too should hopefully be able to whitelist it again, some installer software is just far more susceptible to certain pattern scans and checks due to heuristics being used for analyzing what the file is doing.

You're right. That's why i checked with more than one antivirus solution. I hope for him that it was only a false positive (according to this link: www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/w...n-win32-blutealbrfn/ , this has been the case, but for an earlier version of Windows Defender virus database). Somehow, if it is the case, there are very few chances that he was the only one to encounter this problem. So more users should raise it.
I did not remember a false positive on the reshade setup (maybe reshade itself), but maybe i am wrong. EasyAntiCheat only concerns the dll, and it is very game specific.

hmm Interesting. Well I tried to download reshade on the computer of a friend of mine, and he has the same results as me. We're both using windows 10 ltsb (ver 1607), so maybe this specific version of windows is causing it.

Just got the latest Windows 10 v1803 17134.137 right now, and still no threat detected. Can i consider me as a lucky guy, or do you use some specific settings for Windows Defender ? Do Windows defender consider other legitimate files as a threat ?

I actually think it started because of the latest Windows Defender updates, so it's just Defender being retarded at this point.

It's possible, but i wonder why windows defender do not raise a false positive on my rig, even with the latest windows defender virus database, and the latest window updates.

Hello crosire,

I play on -X-plane 11 who work "Perfect" with OpenGL but not on my computer...The game crashes instantaneously on desktop when I start X-plane 11.
I know that the problem come of the file "opengl32.dll"... I think my game would work perfectly with a 64bits adapted file; (like "opengl64.dll)
I was hoping that in the following versions of Reshade (3.3.2 // 3.4) these issues are resolved but this is not the case...

Thank you for your comprehension,
Pilot ømega
