I didn't test it with a different version but my guess is that it wouldn't change the depth buffer because the game is using the default algorithm for the depth buffer.

I just tested it with 0.17 but the game doesn't even start with it

Depthbuffer is possible disabling MSAA but the game doesn't distinguish the HUD properly and blurs it in first person. In third person DoF will only blur the hud and nothing else.
AO methods only work at certain angles and flicker, some maps have it more often than not but by norm it is NOT working.
Every other shader tested so far seems to work perfectly as intended, including CA, haze and motion blur.

I'm playing in dx11 and get DOF on the whole screen and a white screen when testing the deptbuffe for some reason, msaa is off btw.
Do I need an older version of the master effect or disable certain post effects?

I've tried tweaking some of the config and starting Uplay offline, but none of that seems to work.
Would be grateful if anyone has a solution (mine is Steam + UPlay version)

Indeed, I've seen this vid too. Too bad the guys is French and don't speak Englisch. I would love to know how he get's it working. Btw, the toggle key seems working too judging his jumps

Well gave another game a try, Arcania, and it works flawnessly incl. depthbuffer. Increadable what man can do

I've had Dof working on Farcry 3 a while back, non steam/uplay version. Im just trying to find a way to get it to work on Farcry 4 now with no luck

Off the top of my head I know there was a setting added in common settings to change the depth buffer depth values.. that could fix what is shown in second image

#define RFX_Depth_z_near 0.01 //[0.00001 to 100000.0] Camera z near
#define RFX_Depth_z_far 100.00 //[0.00001 to 100000.0] Camera z far, must be further than the near value.
could work if you play around with this, but then again Crosire will probably know the actual answer seeing as I am only having a guess at the solution here llololol
